The Grand Canyon State Games Art/Essay Contest Awards and Volunteer/Sponsor Appreciation Banquet sponsored and hosted by Arizona Christian University will be held on Friday April 29, 2011. The reception / silent auction will be from 4:30p to 6p with the dinner program beginning promptly at 6p.

In celebration of both our imaginative art contest winners and our innovative essay contest winners, Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to acknowledge their accomplishments. Grand Canyon State Games will also be recognizing our dedicated volunteers who have enlisted the help and support in order to make each event successful. We are also thrilled to be giving acknowledgement to our prestigious sponsors for a year of their diligent support.

Former board member, author, and motivational speaker Andy Dzurinko will be the emcee for the evening. Mogollon, the official band of the Grand Canyon State Games, will be the featured entertainment of the evening. The line up of excited students, proud parents, and an electric atmosphere is sure to be a great recipe for a successful event. There is still a chance to buy your $20 ticket to attend by calling the office at 480-517-9700 by Tuesday April 26th and submitting your RSVP to Tara Heinrichs.

“The Grand Canyon State Games provides a year-round, state and nationwide showcase for the talents and aspirations of our amateur athletes, regardless of age or ability, and an opportunity to celebrate and share many of the great attributes of our state,” said Erik C. Widmark Executive Director of the Grand Canyon State Games. “We pride ourselves on keeping our community active and enjoy providing all Americans an ‘avenue’ for personal development through sports and an Art and Essay Contest.”

More information about the Banquet can be obtained at www.gcsg.org or you may receive updates via email or by calling our office at (480) 517-9700.
